MICHAEL CARR (midfielder)

DoB: 06/12/1983

Born in Crewe, Michael started his career at Macclesfield Town. He went on to make 93 appearances for Northwich Victoria before moving into the professional game with Morecambe and Kiddermister Harriers. In 2009, he joined Stalybridge Celtic and found his way to Kidsgrove after spells with Nantwich Town, FC United of Manchester and Stafford Rangers.

WAYNE CORDEN (midfielder)

DoB: 01/11/1975

Wayne was born in Newcastle-under-Lyme and enjoyed a fourteen-year career as a professional footballer. He made more than 400 appearances in midfield for Port Vale, Mansfield Town, Scunthorpe United, Chester City, Leyton Orient and Notts County, helping Mansfield, Scunthorpe and Orient to promotion. He later spent four years at Leek Town and has also turned out for Colwyn Bay and Eccleshall. Signed in July 2013.

CRAIG DOVE (defender/midfielder)

DoB: 06/08/1983

Born in Hartlepool, Craig started his career at Middlesbrough, coming through the youth system and making two first team appearances. After a spell on loan at York City, he moved to Rushden and Diamonds in July 2004 where he spent a season, before transferring to Chester City. He joined Kidsgrove in July 2008, and his experience has proved a valuable asset to a very young squad. In his time at Kidsgrove, he has alternated between playing in defence and midfield and reverted to a more advanced role in the 2011/12 season, which saw him write himself into Kidsgrove folklore with a stunning goal to help knock Boston out of the FA Cup. Highly regarded by the fans at the Seddon Stadium having remained with the club throughout both highs and lows.

RYAN GROCOTT (defender)

DoB:

Left back who signed from Witton Albion in September 2013. He has quickly settled into the starting line up.

MATT HADDRELL (striker)

DoB: 19/03/1981

A defender or striker Matt was born in Newcastle-under-Lyme and started his career with Kidsgrove under Jimmy Wallace. He moved on to Vauxhall Motors from where he was snapped up by Macclesfield Town for £35,000. He made 15 appearances for the Silkmen before leaving for the first of two spells with Leek Town. He returned to Kidsgrove for the 2009/10 season where his 25 goals were a key factor in Athletic reaching the First Division (South) play-offs. He also had two spells with Congleton Town and a loan period with Norton United before signing for Grove for the fourth time in July 2013.

JORDAN JOHNSON (striker)

DoB:

Exciting young forward who joined the club in December 2013 from Cuddington of the Crewe and District League. Showed an immediate eye for goal by netting four times in his first four starts for Kidsgrove.

WAYNE JOHNSON (defender)

DoB: 28/11/1973

Wayne is now in his third period at the club, having spent three years as manager of local rivals Leek Town between 2007 and 2010. He has proved to be as solid as ever in defence and is a real presence on the pitch for Kidsgrove, using his height to safely clear many balls into the box or to offer a useful attacking threat at set pieces. As well as his time in charge at Leek, he spent many years at Harrison Park, having initially joined in 2001 and has also featured for Newcastle Town, Congleton Town and Rocester.

AIDEN MATRANGA (midfield)

 DoB: 30/11/1986

Pacey winger who moved to Kidsgrove in June 2006 after his release from Macclesfield Town whom he had represented at Youth and Reserve levels. He started to contribute goals regularly towards the end of his debut season including a memorable strike in the 6-1 Staffordshire Senior Cup final triumph over Rushall Olympic. Has gone on to be a valuable and popular member of the team and is currently the longest-serving player at the club, having now made in the region of 200 appearances. Unfortunately, he missed the entire 2011/12 and 2012/13 seasons with a serious knee injury sustained in a pre-season friendly but has now made a welcome return to the squad.

DANNY READ (goalkeeper)

DoB: 27/04/1983

Danny signed from Stafford Rangers in February 2013. He is a good shot stopper, is quick off his line and has excellent distribution. He previously played for Biddulph Victoria, Nantwich Town, Newcastle Town.

SHANE REANEY (forward)

DoB: 07/05/1985

Pacey player who can play either as a striker or on the wing. Joined Kidsgrove in July 2012, having followed manager Shaun Hollinshead from Stone Dominoes. Locally he has also turned out for Meir KA and Congleton Town.

CHRIS SMITH (defender)

DoB: 12/10/1990

Chris came up through the youth ranks at Everton before moving to Stoke City's youth system. Upon his release from Stoke City, he enrolled at the University of Staffordshire to study a degree in Sports Coaching and Development, sharing his studies with playing Stone Dominoes.

In June 2011, along with 5,000 hopefuls, Smith entered Samsung's Win A Pro Contract competition in a bid to earn a professional deal with Swindon Town. In February 2012, Smith was chosen by then Swindon manager Paolo Di Canio as the competition winner. Di Canio said of Smith, "he looked older than his age. As a right-back he has a fantastic quality. He's not very tall but when he challenges the opponent he has balance. Also, on the ball he is very good."

Smith made his League debut for Swindon in the 0-0 draw at Bradford City in May 2012. In November 2012, he joined Northampton Town on loan.

Following Swindon's decision to halve its wage bill over the summer of 2013, Smith was released by the club in May 2013, with Swindon manager Kevin MacDonald saying "the wage bill that was used this season was not sustainable so we have to reduce it. It's just a shame some good footballers have had to be released."

After leaving Swindon, Chris signed for Kidsgrove in September 2013.

KEVIN STREET (midfielder)

DoB: 25/11/1977

A teacher by profession, Kevin was born in Crewe. A tough-tackling midfielder or defender with an accurate pass, he started his career at his home-town club. He made 216 senior appearances in a career that also saw service with Luton Town, Bristol Rovers and Shrewsbury Town. He also played for Nantwich Town and Stafford Rangers before joining Kidsgrove. With managerial experience at both the last two clubs, he coaches junior sides at Crewe.

ANDY TAYLOR (defender)

DoB: 07/11/1982

A tough-tackling defender, he started his career at Port Vale. He then joined Stone Dominoes before moving to Nantwich Town where he was a member of the 2006 FA Vase-winning side. Andy then joined Leek Town where he had a spell as Captain before signing for Kidsgrove in August 2011.

PAUL TAYLOR (defender)

DoB: 16/09/1980

Talented defender who signed for Kidsgrove in November 2011, having left Leek Town at the prior to the start of the 2011/12 season where he had spent nearly two years. "Taz" started his career at Port Vale and, after a spell at Stone Dominoes, then joined Nantwich Town, making over 100 appearances and helping them to two promotions, in a team that contained several current Kidsgrove players.

WES WILKINSON (midfielder)

DoB: 01/05/1984

Wes is a centre-forward or attacking wide midfielder who was born in Manchester. He was signed by Oldham Athletic from Nantwich Town going on to make seven senior appearances. He later had spells with Leigh Genesis, Ashton United and Newcastle Town. Noted for his quick feet and lightning pace, he joined Kidsgrove in July 2013.
